The Chicago Road to Detroit Ride is part of a group of Bicycle Caravans converging on the US Social Forum from all over the country.  For more information about other rides, check out bikeit.org.

Chicago Ride Structure: The bicycle caravan coming from Chicago will be made up of groups of riders (hopefully including YOU!) who are riding together in “hubs”.  The idea is for each hub to be an independent group that rides in solidarity with the other hubs on the road to Detroit.  This will allow us to have an unlimited size caravan while allowing each group to coordinate their own logistics, ride at their own speed, etc.

You can either create a hub made up of you and your friends, or sign up to join a hub. Hubs are asked to send a spoke (one representative) to the spokescouncil to support our collective experience and coordinate activities like campground reservations and route planning.

By joining or creating a hub, you’ll be able to join the Road to Detroit bike caravan, participate in pre-trip workshops, get ready for the ride at a day-long orientation, and be covered under the Spoke N’ Heart liability insurance.

If you’re ready to join the Road to Detroit, click here to tell us about yourself and your hub.
